Following a cancer diagnosis and treatment, oncologists often become the default primary care for patients. Transitioning away from the oncologist to a primary care provider for general healthcare may be challenging at times for patients but may have tremendous benefits. In this episode, we ask young adults with cancer about their experiences transitioning to primary care during or after treatment.

After diagnosis with Follicular lymphoma, my stress started. Stress caused by my insurance company. Finding a primary care doctor that works with my insurance company so i can get the needed referral to see my oncologist. As of this date I am on my 3rd PCP. I’m a senior with limited income, and a HMO insurance.
The health system works against people like me.
keep looking or change your HMO i have Multiple Myeloma and also a senior and pay nothing for my Chemo now is the time to look around
